Compare with casebound book printing /hardcover book prinitng, paperback book printing/softcover book printing, there're several ways for coil book printing.
The binding method of coil book printing including: wire -O sprial bound printing, ring bound printing, comb binding book printing.
For example:
Wire-O Hardcover Specifications:
Size: 210 x 285mm portrait
Extend: 208pp text + 4pp endpaper + case
Text: 128gsm C2S with 4c/4c printing
Endpaper: 300gsm C1S with 4c/0c printing plus flood coating aqueous varnish
Case: 157gsm C1S with 4c/0c printing plus glossy lamination mounted over 3mm grey board
Binding: print, fold and collate, punch the holes, cross the coils, finally case in
Pack: double wall corrugated export carton and pallets 42??ид x 48??ид
Please note if the wire-o coils are concealed under the case, the endpaper should be very heavy, above 250gsm at least. Because the endpaper will function to hold the text body, thin stock will lead it destroyed and tear from the board. But if the wire-o coils are unconcealed or semi-concealed, 120gsm wood free paper could perform as endpaper normally.
Spiral and comb coils are normally workable for unconcealed books due to not very flexible for other two versions.
Ring binding normally is available for concealed bookbinding, because the rivets and ring binder should be fixed on the spine. So a case or just a bar is necessary.
For softcover books, all coil materials are workable. The specifications for these books do no differ from the ones of other softcover books. A heavy stock or plastic materials for ring binding softcover book are better.
